This innovative two-day event, which will be held June 25 and 26 from 9 AM-8 PM ET at Pottstown Senior High School (750 N. Washington St., Pottstown, PA 19464) will feature some of the nation’s top free agents as they compete in front of NBA, WNBA and FIBA scouts for the consideration of contracts at the U.S. and international professional basketball level.

Howard, who was a successful player at Villanova and was even one of just a few players to break the 1,000 point mark, faced an uncertain future after graduation. That’s when he pursued a career overseas and became one of the most valuable players internationally. After 13 years playing abroad and winning two championships, two scoring titles and remains one the top 10 scorers in LEB Gold history, he decided to retire and start iBall United.

From action-packed tournament-style games and world-class drills, to intensive speed and athletic tests, iBall Pro Combine demonstrates what it takes to play at the professional level. The event is open to both male and female players. However they must be officially “invited” to attend after filling out an application online at www.iballunited.net and meeting the necessary requirements. Data for all registered players is shared internationally before, during, and after iBall Pro Combine to inform scouts on key metrics associated with professional evaluation.

The iBall United Pro Combine and The Community

In addition to the Pro Combine, Howard believes strongly in giving back to his hometown of Pottstown, which is why the event also has a strong focus on involving the community. The iBall Healthy Families Initiative was launched in 2015 to promote health, wellness, and unity of area families and the community.

At the 2015 iBall Pro Combine, 20 businesses participated to help IBall United award more than $1,000 to local charities and 100 youth participating in the Healthy Families Basketball Clinic (HFBC). And the 16 Healthy Families initiative is already expected to more than double the gifts to the community.

The 2016 iBall Pro combine will also feature the HFBC and a new group of Pro Prospects from across the country will volunteer once again in the drills with kids and their families.

Peacock, who is turning 80 this year, takes the stage with 40-, 50-, and 60-year olds this Saturday, May 9 at the Contra Costa Bodybuilding Championship, to be held in the Chabot College Performing Arts Theatre.

“There is no doubt that this is a career turning point for me. It’s what I’ve been training for my entire life, but especially the last three years. I’ll have 60-seconds to prove myself—my physique and my poses—with competitors between 40 and 69. That’s potentially almost 40 years younger than me.”

Peacock chose to compete in three classes for a couple of reasons—no 70s bracket existed, and he has every intention of continuing his legacy to inspire others who want to follow their bodybuilding dreams.

“I want people to see me and say, ‘I can do that. Look at that guy up there at 80.’ I want to inspire to the end; I’ve done it all my life. I’ve had world champions come up to me and say, ‘I remember when you stopped and spoke to me as a teenager, and now, 20 years later, I’m the number one guy. Thank you.’”

It was in 1965, as an already athletic young man in his early 30s, an avid swimmer, surfer cyclist, and hiker, that Peacock went as a spectator with his friends to his first bodybuilding competition. “I knew I wanted to do that—that I could do that.” And that he did, taking home his first trophy in the 1968 Mr. Venice Beach competition, which gave rise to a half-century career with more than 50 major titles earned.

Baseball fans will be heading to Livermore soon for the Little League Intermediate World Series, July 29 – August 4, at Max Baer Park. Also celebrating the event will be Grand Slam Safety, a new company dedicated to developing innovative products to keep players safe.

Among the 49 Alaskans to be featured in the book are distance mushers Paige Drobny and Cody Strathe, class V whitewater paddlers Paul Schauer and Tim Johnson, ultra-distance specialists Tyler Johnson and Luc Mehl, alpinists Clint Helander and Jason Stuckey, and skier/mountaineer sisters Krista Heeringa and Heidi Rader.

Launched on the Kickstarter platform, the 49 Faces of Alaskan Adventure is raising funds for it’s publication at bit.ly/kick49faces. Supporters of the project receive unique rewards, such as the GPS coordinates to the “Great Alaskan River Party,” a dinner and adventure in Northern Alaska, a copy of the finished iBook, and much more.

Wiejaczka and Schauer, both Alaskan adventurers themselves, love wilderness travel and stories from the Alaskan backcountry. As the Diamond League winds down, Walter Dix, one of America’s elite sprinters, talks of his current condition, future, and setting new goals for himself as well as the sport in the United States

“I can’t believe I stumbled like that…but thankful health is back….”, are just some of the words that Dix tweeted after his off form 100m performance in Zurich this past weekend. Though he stumbled out of the blocks, Dix was still able to recapture enough form to stop the clock at a season’s best 10.07 into a slight headwind against six of the eight 100m finalists from Moscow.

He had not raced for almost two weeks prior to Zurich as he has been training and continuing rehab from the slight strain suffered in Des Moines at USA’s. He strategically ran low-key races since then in order to test his body and rehab properly, while slowly regaining his competitive edge.

“I had to take some time to completely heal and not rush myself back to the track to soon. I just had to be patient in order to come back ready to run again. I want to show the young people who follow the sport that to do it right, it takes a little time, and patience.”

It has been a long season for the free agent, but he has been gradually building up his form and health in order to finish out the season on a positive note.

“I’m healthy now and just looking to finish the season strong and positive while having a little fun in the process. I’ve had a lot of support from family, fans and friends and I owe it to them to get back on the track ASAP!”

With the final Diamond League meeting approaching in Brussels this Friday, September 6th, Dix looks to continue his comeback trail.

“We hope to compete in Brussels, Rieti, and probably shut it down until next year. He has been hard at work this season, building his body up, taking stock of the direction that the sport and its athletes must go towards not only for the fans, but also the sport itself. He’s a fighter and anybody who really knows Walt, knows that he doesn’t give up easily at all” said his brother Washington. “We set out a plan for this season, and Ibelieve, given the circumstances faced throughout the season, Walter will ultimately get the job done!”
