Family Day Charity Event
On Saturday June 4th at Gemini Springs Park in DeBary Florida, Trainers Edge is hosting the First Annual Family Day Heart of Fighter Charity Event. The Advanced Registration includes a Biathlon starting at 7am includes a 8 km Bike Ride and a 5 km Run. The Standard Registration (Cycling) starting at 8am includes 8 km Bike Ride or the Standard Registration (Run) also starting at 8am includes a 5 km Run. Bring your families and cheer on the athletes and after the races, enjoy the numerous vendor stalls, bouncy castles and food trucks that will be attending to support this event. SAP NAMED PRESENTING SPONSOR OF ANDY RODDICK FOUNDATION CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC

Market leader in enterprise application software SAP has signed on as the Presenting Sponsor of the inaugural Andy Roddick Foundation (ARF) Celebrity Golf Classic April 14-15, 2013 in Austin, Texas. The tournament will kick off with a Bogey Down Party with Andy and Friends on Sunday, April 14 at Barton Creek Resort,followed by golf at the Spanish Oaks Golf Club on Monday, April 15. Attendees include MLB Legend Roger Clemens, Four-time Grand Slam Tennis Champion Jim Courier, PGA Golfer John Mallinger, MLB World Series Champion Kevin Millar, Nationally syndicated radio host Bobby Bones and ESPN Personality Jay Harris, with more to be confirmed.

Roddick, in his first year of retirement, is now spearheading ARF’s new growth strategy with the foundation’s CEO, Jeff Lau.“We’re really excited about hosting the first-ever golf tournament to support the foundation’s efforts to help underserved youth learn lessons in character and leadership,” said Lau.

Spanish finalists of the BMW Golf Cup International qualify at PGA Catalunya Resort

Jesús Aguinaga, Luis Mena and Patricia Domínguez Arburua were triumphant in their respective categories in the National Final of the BMW Golf Cup International, which took place at the PGA Catalunya Resort. These three players will now represent Spain in the World Final in South Africa.

The BMW Golf Cup International 2012 held its National Final on Saturday 6th October at the PGA Catalunya Resort. Finalists who qualified in 12 local trials held throughout the season across Spain travelled to the resort.

The spectacular “Stadium” golf course at the PGA Catalunya Resort, named best golf course in Spain in the “100 best golf courses where you can play” list in British magazine Golf World, proved to be a difficult test for competitors, none of whom were able to go under the course par.

The winner in the first category was Jesús María Aguinaga, representing Lurauto, from Gipuzkoa, who with a score of 76 strokes was able to beat his closest competitors by four strokes. In the second category, Madrid’s Luis Mena, representing Ibericar Cuzco Motor, did the same and with 75 strokes he also beat his closest competitors by 4 strokes. The most hard-fought of the day was the ladies catgeory, where Patricia Domínguez Arburua achieved a birdie on the 18th to claim victory with the least strokes.

These three players now have the honour of representing Spain in the World Final, taking place in March in South Africa, where they will face winners from the other 45 countries. Three places will be at stake to play the previous Pro-Am at the Open BMW International which will take place in Munich (Germany) during the Summer of 2013.

Five year print partnership for Balreed and global golf tournament

Balreed to provide all print technology and support to the Alfred Dunhill Links Championships for the fifth year running.

It may be known to many professional golfers as the ‘Home of Golf’ but to Balreed, St. Andrews Golf Course is a ‘home away from home’.

Once again Balreed has been chosen by the organisers of the world-renowned golf championship, played at St Andrews, as the official supplier of print and document technology.

This is the fifth year the event will rely on Balreed throughout the four-day tournament to provide and support print, copy and scan devices to media tents, European tour offices and tournament offices across all three courses that the event plays on.

The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is a magnet for golfers from every corner of the world. It has a unique format and incorporates two separate competitions – an individual professional tournament for the world’s leading golfers with a US$5 million prize fund, and a team competition which features some of the most celebrated amateur golfers playing alongside the professionals.

Lee Westwood leads the British challenge for the title this year, and many of the world’s leading international players will be there to compete with him. In the amateur ranks the playing roster is sure to include some of the biggest names from the world of entertainment, sport and business. Michael Douglas, Samuel L Jackson, Morgan Freeman, Hugh Grant and Dennis Quaid have all shared the fairways in previous years with sporting greats like Sir Steve Redgrave, Sir Bobby Charlton, Boris Becker, Ian Botham, Ruud Gullit, Johan Cruyff and Nigel Mansell so expectations of the 2012 field are very high.

The tournament starts on Thursday 4th October and will play over three championship Scottish courses: The Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns.

Balreed’s support extends to all three courses and staff will be on site throughout the build-up and the tournament itself to help organisers prepare and manage the event.
