Having managed to earn the accreditation of AIMS and IAAF, the Limassol Marathon GSO is expanding into a big athletic celebration where Marathon runners from all over the world will meet to compete and at the same time enjoy a memorable experience.

According to Head of the Organizing Committee and member of the Municipal Council, Spyros Spyrou, the Limassol Marathon is on the official programs of the leading European Running Clubs which should lead to an even more popular event in 2012.

The organizers believe that the Limassol Marathon is not just another athletic event. It’s a mass event for the city with numerous ways in which everyone can participate. Above all, for Limassol, and for Cyprus, it’s a celebration of peace and friendship, a display of warm hospitality to marathon runners from all over the world.

As in previous years, events will include the Marathon, Half Marathon, a 10 kilometre Fitness Run, a 5 kilometre Corporate Team Run, a Children’s Run, a Charity Run and lots of side events and surprises.

The start of the competitive courses is at 9am at the Limassol Pier.

Limassol is the second largest city of Cyprus and the capital of vitality and hospitality. Molos area on the sea front is the start and finish point, a beautiful spot which smiles back to the smile offered by the sea! Imagine the fantastic route, the great beaches, the breathtaking trails combined with the well known hospitality of our people and the mild weather.
